THE WHITE HOUSE ON THE HILL

During Round Top's annual Antiques Week, in April I had the opportunity to be one of the first guests at The White House On The Hill bed and breakfast. I had just landed from Paris and drove directly to Round Top for Antiques Week. Everything was booked - including two of my other favorites, The Vintage Round Top and Rachel Ashwell's The Prarie. I usually go to source out unique finds for our home, and to join in the fun at the Junk Gyspy Prom, and last year's opening and launch of the Junk Gypsy's Headquarters - you may have seen the girls on HGTV//GACTV with their creative finds and unique decorating tips on their TV show. Junk Gypsy also have Wander Inn opening soon, on the JG property in Round Top. "Honey Hush!" 

The new White House On The Hill bed & breakfast is so much more than what I was expecting. (I had only heard about it over the phone, there weren't any pictures yet - I had never seen it, just booked it because it sounded beautiful). After landing home in Texas on my plane, the last thing I wanted to do was drive to Round Top to seek out furniture & decor. I am so thrilled that I did the drive and booked, because although I thought it would be a pain to drive there - the drive on the back roads of Texas, and the stay at White House was absolutely beautiful, and refreshing - exactly what I needed. 

Upon my arrival I was greeted by the lovely owners of White House, Linda and Rob. They made my stay incredibly comfortable and made my stay lovely. Linda checked up on me by contacting me since I was running a bit late from Houston, to make sure I was getting along on the drive alright. They were lovely and I highly recommend staying at White House - even if visiting other than for Antiques Week. There is a beautiful table outside of the White House under an oak tree - perfect for a sunset dinner. The sunsets are gorgeous out on the property by the way.

There's not much around to grab a bite to eat - I'd recommend bringing in snacks and food to make lunch and dinner. JW's Steakhouse isn't too far from White House - but during this time it's incredibly packed and one of the only restaurants open in this area for dinner. You can get dinner to-go and bring it back to the lovely table under the oak tree at White House. 

I was first lead to White House by a friend, because her place was completely booked. Everything is usually booked around this time (hard to find a place), Round Top's Antique Week spans for miles! People come in to shop Round Top from all corners of the US. Vendors for Antiques Week also ship in their antiques from around the country just to show during this weekend - there are various spots, and days to shop.
