MAROON COUNTRY

Football season kicks off today and we are going to BTHO out of South Carolina! Fashion has never looked better with the options we now have as Aggies! Lucky for us maroon is a common color out in stores for fall. As maroon is in the brown family - pair maroon with what you would normally pair brown with. On the contrary - you CAN wear maroon with black, unlike brown. Kick up your boots Ags, it's football season! And it's time to make fashion meet functional this season at Kyle Field! Can I get a WHOOP?

This fall I selected the cutest tank top I could find on the market that even remotely came close to feeling like "home" - home being College Station. The tank top has "Sweet Home College Station" printed on the front with a heart over College Station, Texas in the graphic from Southern Jewlz. It makes me want to come right back to Aggieland. I paired the look with my fringe boots, and leather leggings which are both huge trends and staple pieces this fall. My purse is a clutch that turns into a cross strap bag - because even though I will be sitting on the Alumni side - you bet your bottom dollar you'll catch me still standing - and a cross body bag works better for me for tailgating and in the stands. It's gorgeous and functional. I also layered a few bangles that are turquoise, white, and maroon in color. It's always fun to mix some color into your outfit this football season!

The other top I LOVE this season is this jersey with the state of Texas and Aggies printed as big as Kyle Field on the front - I love huge font that promotes my team, yes, I am a Red Ass. I paired it with camo. Camo is actually really fun to pair with maroon - given our school's roots I find it appropriate and on the mark to pair with my Aggies jersey. The camo pants came with a pink belt that I decided I wanted to keep on for this look to continue the "fun" attribute to this outfit. I paired it with turquoise and white jewelry and popped on wedges. If you can find comfortable wedges they're actually awesome to throw on for the game. As a student I never wore flats (they hurt my back & I do not like them) I always wore wedges to the games - there are comfortable wedges out there - and to use them again where them the night before to Yell Practice with your date - I assure you, your date will like them too and you can continue wearing them throughout the night to Northgate. Wedges are always a more feminine choice than sandals. My pet peeve? Seeing flip flops on any girls feet at Northgate - nothing disturbs me more. It's never a mystery why you don't have a date to Yell Practice. Follow my lead and put wedges on your feet.

One thing that I find sentimental is getting your very own football dress made out of t-shirts that are sentimental to you. I got mine made my first year at Texas A&M, from Material and I still wear mine to every game. It's one thing to get a cute football dress at one of the various stores on campus - but to have your very own dress made for half the cost, I find it more sentimental and for a college student I find it better for budget. My t-shirts came from an x-large shirt that was thrown to me during ESPN's game day at Texas A&M and from a t-shirt my Dad purchased for me from Texas A&M when I wanted to cheer at t.u. My t-shirt dress is still around for game day.

Kendra Scott recently came out with a "Gig 'Em Kendra Scott" campaign which is where all of my maroon jewelry comes from. I could not be happier that Kendra has finally introduced maroon into her stores. Get ready to really Gig 'Em KS because Aggieland loves nothing more than finally having something pretty to wear to the games, and I'm sure you'll be feeling the Spirit of Aggieland in your stores!
