I met Paige and Smoot, owners of The Vintage Round Top during a photoshoot while styling a wedding campaign with BHLDN & Watters on the property. While we were shooting The Vintage Round Top had just opened and Paige and Smoot had made their dream into a reality. The Vintage is a Texas country getaway in Round Top Texas. The decor is beautiful and each piece has a story behind it. The stairs leading to the upstairs loft are numbered with cute numbers hand painted on each step - and the wall neighboring the staircase is lined with suitcases that are stacked inside of the wall. I am not sure if I am developing a visual for my readers right now but I have pictures to better understand the imagery I am trying to paint of this quaint and perfectly vintage home rental.
What is unique about The Vintage?
The Vintage Round Top is a brand that encompasses a 2400 sq ft home rental only one minute from Round Top Square, an antiques business that is open year round in Round Top Vintage Market, a custom home-goods line that includes soaps, candles, and textile products as well as an online shop that offers both.
The home rental is the muse for our home goods line and can be described as “Modern Vintage Style”, a thoughtful mix of clean modern lines with vintage touches that add history and provenance. Our antiques business style can be described as French Bohemian, Industrial Chic, and Vintage Luxe. We also have a blog that includes a weekly Paige's Picks section with modern vintage choices in home decor and fashion which pulls from my 22 years as a modeling agency executive.
What are your favorite spots to shop for Antique Week - what spots do you recommend for visitors?
I first have to suggest Round Top Vintage Market of course, since this is the year round home to our booth space. It's open every weekend as well as during the show and is indoors, has AC, heat, and is 30 seconds from The Vintage Round Top. We don't have room for our complete list because the options are endless, but our absolute go to's are: Marburger Farm, Zapp Hall, EXCESS, Blue Hills, Texas Rose, Arbor Antiques, La Bahia, and then there's Warrenton - where you could stay for days on end.
What booth/tent will you be at for your furniture during Antique Week? We showed at Marburger the last few shows, but decided to take on a permanent, year round space at Round Top Vintage Market located at 1235 N Hwy 237.
Lastly, what has been your favorite find thus far during Antique Week? The arrow that Smoot found in Warrenton during the renovations. It hangs in the house and we loved it so much we added it to our logo!
If you can't make it to Round Top, you can still shop the fields through our online shop that includes both antique and vintage home decor as well as our home goods line. http://www.thevintageroundtop.com/shoprtv/
The RVT amenities line is now being offered at the ultra hip Hotel Ella in Austin, Texas. We are looking for up and coming artisans that would like to collaborate on new products.
The Vintage Round Top was named one of the best places to stay and one of the best online shops by Country Living Magazine and is being featured in 4 coffee table books including Apartment Therapy coming out in September.
Smoot and I feel truly blessed to have this creative outlet and the opportunity to give back. We donate a portion of our income to Habitat For Humanity and offer internships to young people wanting to get into the industry.
