Rodeo Houston comes once a year and it is the perfect excuse for new boots, a brand new pair of jeans, and for new accessories - especially turquoise additions. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo impresses with the lineup of music and the amazing junk food; who can get enough?
Turkey legs, funnel cakes, bar-b-que stuffed potatoes, fried Oreos - the goods are all there. You don't have to dress up to attend, but you can dress the alternative, rodeo chic. Amazing dresses, and layered looks are perfect. Channeling your turquoise into your apparel and accessories, and don't forget fringe - lots of fringe!
I absolutely love wearing chunky turquoise accessories; they're flattering and gorgeous on everyone. Why not channel your turquoise somewhere else? For instance, channeling the color on your purse. Instead of my accessories, I opted for a turquoise purse from Miu Miu
For your apparel, you can opt to wear tone-on-tone or neutrals with fun prints and mix in accessories to glamp-up the neutral look. Jewelry with natural stones are a must. Turquoise and leather material can be layered together for a fun rodeo look.
Dusters and vests can be worn over dresses that look incredibly similar to slips. For a pulled-together look, belt it right at the waist. And instead of pairing it with a necklace, wear big earrings and a cuff. The look reminds me of Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac
This boho chic look is a great alternative look for rodeo. The ideal boutique for something like this would be Abejas Boutique with capes and dusters created by their in-house label, Miel de Abejas. I absolutely love their dusters and cover-ups to top off rodeo looks - especially over denim and boots.
A new Houston-based designer created jewelry I thought ideal for rodeo. Christina Greene creates looks that are perfect to complete the look.
The Houstonian recently moved back from New York and will be hosting a booth at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
Catch the booth for the perfect accessories to tie together your look at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, March 3-22 at booth #E6107 / 6108 (Corner booth Hall E)
