SWEATER WEATHER

Fall is one of my favorite seasons - you get to layer and piece together outfits with multiple pieces. I love the holidays, and dressing for cooler weather. I came across the perfect fall piece at Anthropologie that was meant to be a dress, but I couldn't resist pairing it with leather leggings. I purchased my leather leggings last year, and bought more than one of the same pair because I love them so much. This outfit was paired with metallic accessories and turquoise accessories. I love neutrals when they're paired with a pop of color - there is a constant orange that added a little something to this sweater, which was the perfect pairing.

Fall is all about layering – layering apparel, layering accessories. It is the perfect time to pile it on. Which us Texas women do incredibly well; we know that more means more, and the bigger the better. Add bigger statement pieces to your apparel to make a statement, especially with neutral colors. Neutral colors always need an additive, a little pick-me-up, whether it’s a statement piece accessory, colorful jewelry, or a pop-of-color shade of lipstick.

Sweaters are a perfect pairing with leather leggings. Leather leggings are easy to find in various stores and are seen this season paneled with cotton combos, or full-on leather. You can opt to find a reasonable pair of faux leather leggings from the $20-$30 price range. Stores like Cotton On, Forever 21, H&M, and Topshop are just a few of the various brands I have seen carrying the look. Brands like Billy Reid carry real leather leggings that are a higher price point.

Wear the look this season – a sweater with leather leggings – whether the sweater is oversized, fitted, or a sweater dress. Complete the look with statement jewelry or a winning color combo that coordinates well with the colors within the sweater.
